2016-02-18 Board Meeting Minutes

Gold Hill Fire Protection District
Board of Directors Meeting: Minutes
February 18, 2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 PM. All board members were present except for Rich Lopez, whose absence was excused. Gretchen Diefenderfer was also present. Bobby Vrba acted as chair for the meeting.

The minutes for the January meeting were approved.

Fire Chief’s Report: Chris Finn Started by summarizing the incident calls for the past month. There were a total of 5 automatic aid calls, one medical call, and a call for a vehicle that was off the road in Lickskillet. Fire department personnel (Andy) also attended a funeral pyre west of town to make sure the bonfire was controlled for the duration of the ceremony.

There is one new recruit to the department. Dan Maedke, a relatively new resident of Gold Hill, is a new volunteer. His help is welcome.

Chris continues to look for a truck that meets the criteria of carrying 500 gallons of water, has 4 wheel drive, and can fit in the fire barn.

Other Business: There was some discussion about the proposed 30,000 gallon cistern to be tentatively located in the Town Meadow. Rick and Boyd are going to open up talks with the county to find out what, if any, permits will be required. Rick is locating vendors of tanks in order to get some bids. All indications are that it will cost $80000 to $100000 for the tank and installation.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM. Next meeting scheduled for 7:00 PM on March 17th, 2016.

Respectfully submitted,

Rick Geesaman
