2016-05-19 Board Meeting Minutes

Gold Hill Fire Protection District
Board of Directors Meeting: Minutes
May 19,2016

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM. Present were board members Paul Garabedian, Bobby Vrba, Rick Geesaman, and Boyd Brown. Gretchen Diefenderfer also attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Rick Geesaman due to the excused absence of Rich Lopez.

Minutes from the last meeting were unanimously approved. The point was made that the minutes need to be posted on the Gold Hill Fire District’s website.

Oath of office was taken by Paul Garabedian, Bobby Vrba, and Boyd Brown.

Bobby Vrba presented the chief’s report for the month. There had been one fire call that consisted of two fire fighters
putting out an smoldering campfire near Mt. Alta. Many fire fighters had helped during the Four Mile road race; no injuries occurred. There had been several training sessions which had been well attended.

A fire truck with the needed specifications has been located. Unfortunately, the truck is brand new and costs $371,000. The search continues for a more affordable option.

Rick summarized the status of the Town Meadow Cistern project. There a meeting with the county planning department. The process for obtaining the necessary permits was outlined. The first step is to get the permission of the Open Space department since the Town Meadow is in a conservation easement. The Open Space department has been contacted, briefed, and are in the process of getting approval.

The meeting adjourned at 7:45 PM. The next meeting will be held on June 16th.

Respectfully submitted,

Rick Geesaman
