The meeting was called to order at 7:04 PM. Present were board members Paul Garabedian, Boyd Brown, Bobby Vrba, Rick Geesaman, and chaired by Rich Lopez. Gretchen Diefenderfer and Chris Gibson also attended the meeting. Minutes of the past meeting were approved.
Chief Finn presented the chief’s report for the month. Calls included several medical calls, including calls from the Gold Hill Inn. There was also a call from a elderly woman living in Left Hand Canyon complaining of neck pain. There were several campfire calls. Also, unusually high winds knocked down a power pole near the Finn’s Pink House, but fortunately no fire was started.

The new truck bought from Left Hand Fire Protection District is now in service. Training on the use of the new truck and its systems (including foam) is underway.

Chris Finn presented the board with the proposed budget for next year. The budget hearing will be conducted during the monthly meeting of the Fire Board to be held at 7:00 PM on November 17th, 2016.

Two of the three dry hydrants have been installed in Left Hand Canyon. The last one should be installed in the near future.

There was discussion about acquiring some 20,000 gallon frack tanks to store water for use during the non-freezing months. The motion was made to authorize purchase of two tanks for a maximum of $25,000. The motion was approved.

The firefighter pension plan was discussed. There will be a detailed review at the next meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 8:10 PM. The next meeting will be held on December 15th.
