2016-11-20 Board Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:07 PM. Present were board members Paul Garabedian, Boyd Brown, Bobby Vrba, and Rick Geesaman, and Chief Finn. Gretchen Diefenderfer also attended the meeting. Absent was Rich Lopez (excused). Bobby Vrba chaired the meeting. Minutes of the past meeting were approved.

Chief Finn presented the chief’s report for the month. The new truck bought from Left Hand Fire Protection District is now in service. Training on the use of the new truck and its systems is underway. Eighteen hours of training with the new truck has been completed. Training has been well attended by our firefighters.

There were several inconsequential calls including a smoldering campfire, and a smoke report (came from a chimney).

We have a new recruit firefighter. His name is Drew Smithson.

There was some talk about a 1800 gallon fire cistern being mandated by the county on a new house in the subdivision. The house is located in close proximity to a large community cistern. Chief Finn suggested that the proposed cistern is redundant and unnecessary, and an undo expense on the owners. We will take up this matter again in January.

Chris Finn presented the board with the proposed budget for next year. The board approved the budget unanimously.

There was a motion to create a firefighters pension. The motion was seconded, and unanimously approved.

The board discussed the location of the proposed frack tanks. There is a need to find a place to put them once they are purchased.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM. The next meeting will be held on January 19th, 2017.

Respectfully submitted,

Rick Geesaman
