2017-11-16 Board Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM by Rich Lopez. Present were board members Paul Garabedian, Boyd Brown, and Rick Geesaman. Bobby Vrba could not attend the meeting, and was excused. Chief Chris Finn also attended the meeting. Gretchen Diefenderfer also joined the meeting, and once again brought yummy cookies (oatmeal). Kris Gibson also attended.

Motion was made to accept the minutes of October meeting; motion was unanimously passed. Note that the September meeting did not occur due to a lack of a quorum.
Chris Finn presented the Chief’s Report. There have been four calls since last meeting. One call was for a tree that was blown down across the road just west of town. Donal Maloney handled the cleanup. There was a call for a car wreck east of town. There were no people at the crash site when help arrived. Responders helped out by directing traffic. There have also been two medical calls.

The budget for 2018 was briefly reviewed by the board. Notable changes include a grant of $10,000 by an individual. The other main difference relative to the 2017 budget is the money allocated to install the frack tank/cisterns in the Town Meadow. There was a motion to adopt the budget, which was seconded, voted on and passed.

There will be a meeting with Boulder County Planning Department in a few weeks. Rich Lopez and Rick Geesaman will attend at the minimum.

The Board agreed to meet on December 21st for a short meeting. The meeting will start at 7:00 PM.

Kris Gibson talked about fire marshalls that are active in Four Mile and Sunshine districts. These districts have enacted some regulations that they enforce in addition to the fire regulations adopted by Boulder County. Chris presented the information to the Board for future reference, in case Gold Hill would be interested in employing a fire marshall in the future.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:05 PM.

Respectfully submitted,
Rick Geesaman
